Workplace Standards
NASW has supported agency and worker efforts to provide quality care to clients. Accordingly, the Chapter has encouraged and aided professional social workers to advocate for better salaries and working conditions. Additionally, NASW has worked in coalition efforts to secure more funding for mental health services.
The current era has further strained agency-worker ties. Flattened incomes and declining benefits for many have led to demoralization and increased turnover. NASW’s response has been to articulate Workplace Standards that establish bottom lines for social workers and to enlist employers and workers in an effort to secure more funding for all.
